Ye call Me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am. If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another’s feet. For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you. (John 13:13-15 KJV Thomas Nelson Bible, 2016) JESUS endlessly gave of Himself on behalf of others. He did not live to please Himself. Washing the disciples feet was an act of humility. JESUS demonstrated love by doing good deeds. He taught us how to give ourselves away. JESUS showed His followers the importance of kneeling (coming low), submitting (yielding for others well being), and cleansing (offering the opportunity to come clean and forgiveness). May JESUS’ perfect example make an impression upon our hearts and lives – – that we may learn how to serve humbly in love.
