For there are eunuchs who were born that way, and there are eunuchs who have been made eunuchs, and there are those who choose to live like eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. The one who can accept this should accept it. (Matthew 19:12 NIV biblestudytools.com) Eunuchs in the Old Testament were castrated males. They usually served royal leaders. Some of the servants of GOD were also eunuchs. (see 2 Kings 20:18) Daniel was a eunuch. He served in the royal court while The Jews were in Babylonian captivity. Daniel was a faithful servant of GOD. Jeremiah, the weeping prophet, was not allowed to take a wife. (see Jeremiah 16:2) The Apostle Paul stated in 1 Corinthians 7:7, For I would that all men were even as myself. But every man hath his proper gift of God… (read 1 Corinthians 7:7-9) {I got married during a time in my life when I heard GOD say No. I went through a wilderness experience. Thank GOD, our Father, for His mercy and grace.} If GOD says that it is okay for you to marry, follow His leading. If GOD says No, obey Him. If you desire to marry and it does not happen because of societal views and values, remain faithful to GOD. Some may not value celibacy (abstaining from sex). For some, it is a gift from GOD. May GOD give you strength to endure temptations, and courage to do our Father’s Will. In JESUS’ Name. Amen.
