Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. (Hebrews 10:25 KJV Bible, Thomas Nelson 2016) Why was it important for the early church to gather together? Why is it important for followers of JESUS to gather in this present time? Christianity is not a solo assignment. Pastor Robert Jeffress stated that christianity is not to be practiced in isolation. {Proverbs 27:17 lets us know, Iron sharpeneth iron…} We are to work collaboratively and cooperatively. Followers of JESUS are to be a united front. It is not meant for us to bear our burdens alone. (see Galatians 6:2) JESUS is our Fortress and Strongtower. He unifies believers and helps us to overcome. JESUS stirs the confidence of His people and enables us to endure trials. We can walk valiantly and lend a helping hand to those in need. JESUS saves, connects, undergirds and strengthens His people, by His Spirit, in the unity of faith. Let us continue to gather in love, to exhort fellow followers to continue in the Lord.
