Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. (Psalm 119:105 KJV Bible (c) 2016 by Thomas Nelson) As a lamp, The word of GOD allows us to see where we are in life. As a light unto our path, we can see which way to go – – the direction to take. The steps of a good man are ordered by The Lord: (Psalm 37:23a) In Matthew chapter 25, The Bible speaks of the five wise virgins and the five foolish virgins. The five foolish virgins took their lamps with no oil. The five wise virgins took their lamps and oil. To take a lamp with no oil is partial readiness. To take a lamp and oil, is expectation of the darkness; knowing that there will be a need. To have a lamp with no light, or a lamp with no oil, is to have a Bible, yet not know its relevance to our lives in night time (bad times) as well as the good times. It is to not know that Scripture is to be applied to our lives in everyday living; in every season of life. To have a lamp with no light, or a lamp with no oil, is to be unaware of the transforming power of JESUS (The Light of the world). JESUS enlightens our hearts and minds through His written word. He guides us by His Spirit. We need Him now, and for eternity. Glory to GOD. In JESUS’ Name. Amen.
